Hey Cuz, how you feeling now that your homey did it again?

"Glenn has NEVER been in any trouble before..." RIGHT! Who do you think you're kidding. You got his back alright, while he is sucker punching another innocent victim. Bye Bye Glenn, you had your undeserved chance, and now you're back to the hood.

Well at least now he'll be off the team, out of school. Now he can use his skills and experience to go back to the joint..

Michael,

I would smack the shit out of you and enjoy doing so! I'm guessing you would view this issue a little different then. If you're defending him because you two jackasses are teammates then please let your team tutors help you with your grammar.

Playing sports for MSU is a privilege not a right. I think he should be allowed back to school, but not necessarily on the team. And for the record, A.J Sturges did not get Glenn jail time, Glenn got himself jail time and further more, gave A.J Sturges physical pain and suffering.

However, many of the fb players I know are nice, funny and kind students. So, it is not right to paint the entire program or blame the recruiting. Not all athletes are thugs, and many of the players I know through teaching do work hard.

I know Glenn personally as well. He's my little cousin. All any1 can go off of is ONE side of the story. Even though A.J portrays himself as a victim, I heard that he somewhat instigated the situation. But because he's a "VICTIM", he'll never come out and publicly say it. Glenn has NEVER been in any trouble before. He fought A.J. and A.J. lost. PERIOD!! Glenn has paid his debt and has moved on from this. And so should everybody else.
There's 3 sides 2 this. A.J.'s side, Glenn's side, and the TRUE side.
All any1 can do is speculate.

Go ahead Glenn. I have your back 100%. Give the haters a reason 2 hate.

I really would like to know; What sort of "work" does he have to do before he gets back on the playing field. Dantonio keeps saying that he has a lot of work to do before he can start playing and I am very intrested on what this "work" entails.

Appreciate the comment Jason.

While we can look to Dantonio with regard to whether or not Winston should have been reinstated, I'm not sure how much blame we can put on him for recruiting Winston. As far as I know, Winston didn't have a history of being a thug before the fight in October (if I'm wrong on this one, please feel free to point it out). Sure you could say that a kid who had "good character" wouldn't have done something like this, but it's got to be tough to really get to know a young man and be a judge of his character when you meet him just a handful of times in unofficial and official visits during the recruiting process.

Now, as for the reinstatement, I'm torn on this one but tend to fall on the side of being okay with it. This is, no doubt, a delicate situation for Dantonio. On one hand, Winston screwed up in a major way and needs to realize that there are consequences for his actions, not just legally but with regard to the opportunity to play football as well. On the other hand, Dantonio has an chance to set an example with Winston. An example that when he says that the football team is a family, he means it, and that he's not going to turn his back on you. But hopefully, and I don't think we'll get to know this until months or maybe even years from now, Coach D sets the example that if you screw up, there is a price to pay. And that price won't be aired out publicly, but it will be dealt with privately, and it will be severe, and it will make Glenn Winston a better person in the end.

If Winston keeps his nose clean, and we don't have issues with other players on the team, then I think this probably ends up as a good situation. Winston gets a chance to be a rehabilitation success story, Dantonio gets to set the example that he's firm yet fair, and recruits see that the family pitch isn't just a pitch. But if Winston, or anyone else for that matter, screws up, then all of this might be for naught.

Glenn Winston is a thug. He should be put in jail and never allowed back at MSU. I am a huge fan of Coach Dantonio and what he has brought to Michigan State football, but when he says that he recruits players that have "good character" and then THIS happens with one of HIS recruits? It's not right. Mr. Winston should have been released from the team a long time ago. I still don't understand how the university can just reinstate him that quickly. It seems as though the remorse for AJ has worn off and now all they can think about is winning football games.

I am a life-long Spartan. I am a season ticket holder and I have had great respect for Coach Dantonio and all that he has done for MSU. After Glenn's reinstatement, I have lost some respect for him and I question his judgement.

I can only hope that Glenn Winston has to sit out most of this season and eventually is kicked of the football team and out of Michigan State.

I read somewhere that he may not have apologized for this incident on advice from his legal counsel, since it may have implications for a civil case.
