In a weekend that was supposed to be a defining weekend in the Big Ten, I feel like I came away with more questions than answers. Going into the weekend, I felt like Iowa and Ohio State were the two best teams in the conference. That perception hasn’t necessarily changed, but both teams looked very beatable on Saturday. Iowa struggled to put Michigan away, despite Tater-tot being ineffective for the first three quarters of the game. Ohio State was dominated statistically by Wisconsin, but two pick-sixes and a kick return for a touchdown won the game for the Buckeyes. Penn State, meanwhile, crushed Eastern Illinois in convincing fashion.
Regardless, Ohio State and Iowa have the inside line on the conference title at this point. Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan State are in a three-way tie for third in the conference. MSU still gets Minnesota and Iowa coming up, but would need some help to have a legitimate shot at the Big Ten title.
