At the weekly press conference this morning, Coach Dantonio wore a jacket given to him by Tiger’s general manager Jim Leyland when Dantonio threw out the first pitch at a Tigers game last season.

Dantonio wears a Detroit Tigers jacket during the weekly Tuesday press conference.

Not only that, but Dantonio changed the player interview schedule, so that reporters could interview the football players before practice and go watch the Tigers game.

“We want to support them in any way we can,” Dantonio said. “I just want to say, `Go Tigers,’ and I’m looking forward to their game tonight.”

“We’ll be at practice, but our thoughts will be there (in Minneapolis) and we’ll have people checking in and letting us know what’s going on. I think everybody in Detroit and the state of Michigan is excited, and should be. We’re excited as well and hoping for the best.”
