We’re less than a week away until MSU kicks it off against MSU. Get the grills fired up, the bags boards on the grass, and the drinks in the cooler. Here’s your MSU links for the week:
- MSU picked it’s captains for the 2009 football season on Thursday. Kirk Cousins is just the second sophomore is school history to be named a captain.
- The Free Press gives us some insight into 2010 QB commit Joe Boisture.
- MLive reviews a list from the Detroit News of the top 25 prep football players in the state, and points out that 3 of the top 5 are MSU commits.
- Rex has a few notes as preseason camp draws to a close.
- Shannon Shelton at the Free Press gives us our defensive backfield starters for Montana State.
- 2009 Blogpoll – Round one. We’re not on it (well, top 25 at least). MLIA.
- Plax wants to play football again. You mean as opposed to shooting yourself in the leg again? Probably a good idea.
- Matt Dorsey gives us an interesting look into Coach Dantonio’s recruiting strategy when it comes to hosting recruits on official visits.
- The Only Colors has an analysis of the offensive line (special teams and safeties, too). The offensive line will likely be one of, if not the, most important position units critical to the teams success this season, considering that we are replacing our entire backfield.
- This isn’t a blog about Michigan football, but we can’t help reveling in at least a little bit of schadenfreude. The University of Michigan announced they are conducting an investigation after some football players said that Michigan had violated NCAA rules on practice time. Adam over at ESPN’s Big Ten blog has his take on it here. Meanwhile, the Free Press talked to some MSU players who said that State is running everything by the book.
