Check out the new Spartan Football forums.
When I started this site back in August, I was convinced I wasn’t going to add forums.
Let’s face it, forums are usually ugly. Really ugly. I’d say 90% of the time I visited a website forum, I just couldn’t stand the layout and the interaction. Generally, it was because the system that runs the forums is completely different from the system that runs the website, and so there always was a lot of discontinuity.
But forums are a great way to let people talk about what’s on their mind. Instead of having to wait for a blog post about the topic where you can sound off in the comments, a forum let’s you bring up the topic right away.
So today, I added a forum to Spartan Football, where you can register and sound off on the MSU topics that are on your mind. Sign up is quick and easy, and the forum layout is very clean and easy to navigate. Plus, your login for the forums also works as a comment login on the main site.
As of right now, I’m still trying to figure out how the Facebook Connect login for the regular site will work with the forums. I believe I can get them to play nicely, but I’ll have to do some more poking around to figure it out.
Go ahead, check it out. Post something about MSU that’s on your mind (logo comments, perhaps?). Let me know what you think, and I’ll do my best to keep making the site awesome.
